'DON'T BELIEVE THE TYPE' | workshops / lectures / exhibition | friday 6 november
On Friday the 6th of november the Ship of Fools gallery organizes the 'Don't believe the type' symposium. It will be a day with an inspiring mix of workshops, lectures and the exhibition with the work of internationally known artist and designers. The love of typography is what brings these artists and designers together and this will be shown during the expo.
During the day there will be workshops by Job Wouters, Luca Barcellona and Yomar Augusto and in the eveninglectures by Martijn Sandberg, Yomar Augusto and Alex Trochut. After this, the international exhibition 'Don't believe the type' will be opened. The expo shows that design can have a huge influence on how we look at things. We can make bad things look pretty good, shady things look pretty reliable and even make the best things look crappy. Like a sheep in wolves clothing.

If you would like to participate in the workshops or attend the lectures, you can send an email to typo@ship-of-fools.nl. The workshops last whole day cost 20,-(8,- students) and you can choose one of the workshops. This is incl. material, lunch is available for purchase. The workshops of Yomar Augusto and Luca Barcellona will be in engllish. The lectures cost 10,-(5,- students) and this is for the three lectures combined. The lecture of Yomar Augusto and Alex Trochut will be in english.

Ach, und agifs funktionieren nicht?
Oder was ist da der Trick?
AGIFs gehen nur verlinkt per hhtp...
Blogger ist mehr so gemütliches Arbeitstier und macht brav immer (und nur) JPGs als Vorschaubilder - egal ob Du ein GIF oder PNG oder sonstwas interessantes hochlädst.
Die dritte lecture ist auf holländisch?
Und was sind die tree workshops?
Plauder doch mal etwas aus'm Nähkästchen...
Ach, na das ist ja blödi mit den agifs. Wer die tree workshops sind, weiß ich auch nicht so genau ;) und ja zur niederländischen Sprache, sag ich mal, sind ja hier die Niederlande, nech? (Und wenn man auch noch aus dem Synchronisationsland Numero Uno kommt, indem sogar Filmtitel wie "Up" übersetzt werden, was meiner Meinung nach eine sprachliche Beleidigung sondergleichen ist und selbst von einem Viertklässler schon als Affront aufgefasst werden dürfte, sollte man den sprachlichen Ball erstmal ganz flach halten und verschämt mit dem bunten Turnschuh im Staub scharren, denke ich. Und ich schließe mich da selbstredend mit ein.) Werde mich aber nochmal erkundigen, was Vortragssprache angeht und Bericht erstatten. Glaube aber, dass zumindest der Job Wouters-Workshop schon ausverkauft ist.

Ist alles nicht so einfach. Muss man sich langsam rantasten.
Ah so: Ist jetzt wohl komplett alles in englisch, wollt ich nochmal sagen.
